Printing Envelopes on HP OfficeJet 8500

I recently came across this printer from HP that I just have to share my success with discovering how well it prints envelopes. If you find yourself having to label and print a lot of letters and envelopes, this OfficeJet 8500 from HP will save you loads of time. I couldn’t find my technique in any of the instruction manuals so I thought I would share with anyone who is looking for this information.
Once you have installed the utility on your computer, open the embedded web services for the printer. In the settings for “Paper Handling” change the default tray from Tray 1 to Tray 2 and make sure none of them are locked. Tray 2 is the bottom one that holds 5 times as much paper anyway. Now, you can load 8 1/2 x 11 paper in the bottom and load your envelopes in Tray 1 on the top. When you print an envelope the printer will grab your envelopes, and for a regular page print, it will grab from the bottom tray.
While this works great for printing, make sure to load paper in Tray 1 for photocopying. I found this out the hard way when I went to photocopy something and it came out on my #10 size envelope.
